Ok. We need a good plot. So I have decided that we are going to have a contest. We need a major plot/history description, like for the entire site. We can brainstorm smaller plots later, but let's start with the larger picture.
We will have three judges who will not enter the contest. Post here if you are interested in becoming a judge. First come basis.
Post here with your plot description, make it presentable so we can edit the advertisement to incorporate the plot. The contest will end on August 20, so you should have plenty of time.
Have fun and the winner of the contest will get a pretty button made by Silver! Yay! ;D

Something bad was happening to the area, something bad indeed. It all happened slowly, like someone or something was taking precaution. But... that something happened to be the worst something you could mess with. Mother Nature.
First, the food started to disappear. The more... simple minded animals began to flee, knowing something bad was going to happen. The wolves didn't take much mind to it, they didn't really stop to think. Bad mistake.
Second, the plants began to die, and a few earthquakes (SMALL ONES) began to happen, and the wolves began to worry. Something clearly was happening, but they didn't have time to react.
Third, one morning, the area was extremely hot and dry, and cracks were starting to develop in the earth. And then it started to rain, and it wouldn't stop.
And finally, disaster struck. Above the territory was a funnel cloud, which soon developed into a large tornado. It cleared out the area, and the wolves were sure they would die. But they didn't.
The lands filled with fallen logs, ditches, separations of the earth, mud slides, and everything else horrible. Some did die.
Now everything was like hell. No food, the water was full of mud, and it was hard to get around. And to make matters worse, a plague was being spread around. The wolves were becoming sick.
How could they escape this fate? Would they move to different land, or try to survive like this?
((It kind of sucked :/ I didn't really take much time to write it down, but... you get the main idea?))

Well, I probably shouldn’t be entering in the contest, since I will more than likely be judging it, too (I promise to be impartial!) but here are a few things I had in mind. Maybe if a few more people toss their ideas out there, the rest of you will be encouraged to help out? Anyway, here goes:
First off, it’s difficult to create a history that stands out, especially outside of the usual outlandish gimmicks (special powers, spirit animals, wars started for the usual clichéd reasons—you’ve been there and done that before). Let’s take a look at what has already been established: several wolves, all loners, wandering the Ruins coming into contact with each other and preparing to start fresh on these lands. None of these characters seem to have any previous connection to each other or to the lands here…
That eliminates any history of gang wars or rivalries—if we want those, they will have to take place in the present-day game, as their own plots. I suggest we look at the lands themselves and see what kind of history might have taken place here, before our wolves arrived.
Darkened Spirits (our lands need a name, by the way—any suggestions?) is made up of the Ruins and two hemispheres. The East is lush and tropical; the West offers territory that is familiar to most wolves. Now, wolves did live here previous to the ones we’re playing now, at least in the Western lands. (The shores and rainforest of the East are most unexplored, which could lead to some fun.) What happened to those wolves?
I think we have a lot of potential here because Lilith has created an uninhabited island that shows signs of human habitation at one point. It could be that multiple packs existed here long ago, each with different views on the humans. I like the idea of two philosophies growing out of this interaction: one, a group of wolves believed that the humans had come to help them, perhaps sent by some wolfish deity, and chose to live in harmony with them. The other group would have seen the humans as demons and resisted their attempts to colonize the island. And there would have been some wolves that didn’t agree with either side, and just kept to themselves.
And what of these humans…who were they, why were they on the island? Obviously these buildings are thousands of years old, probably from some natives who lived in the days of Spanish conquistadors, or were marooned by pirates and survived for generations here, set up trading posts, everything…
But the human-wolf relations I’m talking about happened much more recently. I’m thinking that a combination of archeologists, anthropologists, biology majors, people interested in plants and animals, researchers of all kinds and their aides, came to this island to study the Ruins and the creatures that lived around them—specifically these wolves, which weren’t natural to the area and intrigued scientists.
It also could be that these scientists later changed their intent, or were exposed to some kind of rare jungle disease and went crazy—either way; they could have experimented on, tested or abused the animals living on the island. Maybe a wolf attacked somebody, so the humans felt they had to drive away the wolves, shooting several and scattering the rest. Maybe the anti-human wolves grew bold and killed a few people, sparking a war between them and the pro-human wolves, and they murdered one another until there was nothing left.
This kind of history gives the island depth, and provides the opportunity for a lot of exploration and plot threads: what if the bodies of the humans were uncovered or the remains of the wolves were found? What if some of those altered wolves survived to tell the story of the human invasion, and are hiding out in the jungle, waiting? What if humans decided to return to the Ruins, to see what happened to the failed expedition? I see our current wolves as newcomers, naïve to the history of their new home, uncertain of what it might be hiding from them. I think that uncovering the past of Darkened Spirits is a neat idea that still gives us plenty of room to focus on other plots that could be taking place within the packs themselves (once they are founded, of course).
Let me know what you think.

If we want a really simple solution: the island is a reserve, a sanctuary for wolves alone to live. It is called Wolves' Eden by people, created by men as a refuge for these creatures in a time where a strange disease had mutated and left them all but extinct in many parts of the world, like the humans' smallpox it specialized in only the noble wolf, seeking to ruin no other. Intervention was the wolf's last chance of survival. So many survivors of this yet incurable virus were shipped to the island, and met somewhere around the ruins where they began to split into packs and begin their lives. Some have tracking devices to check the species' progress. If the disease reached the island, who knows if wolves could continue their existence at all on the face of this earth... at all. That's what I got; as I said it's not a very complex plot-ridden answer. But if the sickness came to the island that would be interesting, or if the humans tried an airborne vaccine of a less severe version... I don't know, ya'll do what y'all wish. ^^

I like that, Jill; much simpler than my idea. Perhaps we could weave my history into your present-day concept somehow? Have to see what the other Admins think/create.

I don't mean to be pushy, but when are we going to start this thing? No one's replied to this topic since I was last on here...
